Disclosure Summary
To judge a journal you need answers to a handful of questions: who operates it, how it chooses what to publish, where its money comes from, and how it deals with problems. This page gives all four answers together.

Ownership and Publisher
The publisher of JMVRA is JMVRA Publication (JMVRA Publication), which holds ownership of the title and runs the website at jmvra.org. Finances, infrastructure and legal duties of the journal are the publisher's responsibility.
Decisions about individual manuscripts rest with editors and reviewers, who judge them on academic merit. The publisher never tells editors to accept or reject any given paper, and no commercial tie, article processing charge payment included, has any bearing on an outcome.

Journal History
Since its founding in 2013, the journal has appeared every month. Its ISSN is 2984-8911, and it carries multidisciplinary research written in English.
An unbroken publishing record counts as evidence in itself, since anyone can inspect the archive issue by issue and spot any gap. Journals unable to show a continuous run rarely encourage that kind of checking. Look at the dates of earlier issues yourself.
Editorial Governance
Academics and practitioners from the disciplines the journal covers make up the editorial board. Each member deals with submissions in their own area of expertise and is expected to disclose conflicts and step aside whenever one exists.
Who decides what
Joining the board happens by invitation, and either side may end it. Questions about becoming part of the reviewer panel can be sent to [email protected].
Peer Review
Every piece of research content goes through transparent, double-blind peer review: identities are concealed during the review, and once the paper is published the review is recorded so that anybody can inspect it.
Double-blind
Each side stays anonymous to the other: the reviewer never sees the author, and the author never sees the reviewer.
- Checked for similarity beforehand (below 15%)
- Assessed by experts in the field
- Decision sent by email & WhatsApp
Transparent
The review leaves a public record, so any reader can confirm it was actually performed.
- Review listing at Scholar9
- Public reviewer list
- A formal report, if you ask for it
The JMVRA Peer Review: Transparent & Double-Blind page documents the whole workflow — screening, reviewer assignment, assessment criteria, decision categories and the handling of revisions.
Ethics and Integrity
Published positions exist for authorship, originality, data integrity, consent and ethical approval, plagiarism screening and research misconduct. You will find them in Publication Ethics and the Plagiarism Policy.
Before review begins, each manuscript is checked for similarity. Misconduct allegations are weighed against the evidence, and authors can reply before any step is taken.
Corrections and Retractions
No published article is quietly altered or removed. When an error or integrity problem is confirmed, the journal publishes a correction, an expression of concern or a retraction, and that notice stays attached to the article for good. See Corrections and Retractions for the complete procedure.
How openly a journal fixes its own record says more about its quality than any metric it promotes.
Complaints and Appeals
If an author thinks a decision was based on a factual mistake or a misunderstanding, they can appeal in writing and quote the paper ID. Where possible, an editor who took no part in the first decision reviews the appeal. Complaints and Appeals describes the process.
Conflicts of Interest
At submission, authors disclose any financial and personal interests, and say clearly when they have none. Where a conflict exists, editors and reviewers step back from handling the work. Read more at Conflict of Interest.
Revenue Model
Only one income source supports the journal: a one-time article processing charge, payable by authors after acceptance. Readers are never charged, and there are no subscriptions, institutional licences or pay-per-view fees.
- Submission₹0Nothing to pay
- Screening₹0Scope, similarity
- Peer review₹0Transparent, double-blind
- Accepted₹971 INR / $41 USDOnly now, once per article
- ReadingFreeFor everyone, forever
- No payment is due when you submit, while screening takes place, or during review.
- The charge applies to each accepted article rather than each author, and it covers up to 5 authors; every author beyond the 5th is an optional add-on cost.
- Payment cannot buy acceptance, and choosing not to pay after acceptance does not undo the rejection of another person's paper.
- The present amounts — ₹971 INR for Indian authors and $41 USD for foreign authors — appear on Publication Charges before you submit.
Author-funded open access has a recognised structural weakness: revenue grows as more papers are accepted. Safeguards against it include charging only after an independent decision, stating the charge publicly, and leaving editorial decisions to reviewers and editors instead of the publisher. Such openness lets authors judge a model for themselves.
How the fee is worked out, and where it goes: How JMVRA's Low-Cost Model Balances the Books.
Advertising and Sponsorship
Article pages carry no third-party advertising, and the journal takes no sponsorship that could sway editorial decisions. Advertisers and sponsors never see a manuscript before it is published, and no commercial party can review, approve or hold back an article.
Should this position change in future, this page will say so and give the date of the change.
Licensing and Copyright
Copyright stays with the authors. Articles appear under CC BY 4.0, so anyone may read, download, copy, distribute and build on the work provided the authors and journal are properly credited. Without asking permission, authors can place the published version in an institutional repository. Details are in Copyright & Licence.
Archiving
The journal website keeps published articles on permanent article pages, and a Crossref DOI can be had on request, which keeps citations working even if the site is restructured. Depositing the published version in an institutional repository is encouraged, since it adds an independent preservation copy beyond the publisher's control.
AI Policy
Any use of generative AI tools while preparing a manuscript must be disclosed by the authors, who should name the tool and say what it did — language editing, code generation, literature searching or another task.
- AI tools may not be listed as authors, because they cannot be responsible for the work or approve its submission.
- Authors stay fully answerable for all content in the manuscript, including text, citations or analysis created with AI help.
- Made-up references generated by a tool and not verified are the author's responsibility.
- Uploading manuscripts to public AI services is not allowed for reviewers, as it would break confidentiality.
Claims We Do Not Make
Stating plainly what a journal does not claim tells you as much as its positive claims do. Each claim on the left can be verified with one click; nothing listed on the right is claimed anywhere on this site.
What we claim — check it yourself
- ISSN 2984-8911 — ISSN Portal
- Crossref DOIs — Crossref record
- Google Scholar citation profile — journal profile
- Transparent, double-blind peer review — records on Scholar9
- Open access under CC BY 4.0, authors keep copyright
What we do not claim
- Not indexed in Scopus, Web of Science or DOAJ — see Indexing Verification
- No Clarivate Journal Impact Factor — see Impact Factor Details
- No guaranteed acceptance, and no publication subject to peer review date
- No promise that publication here satisfies any particular institution’s requirements — check with your institution
- No claim that ResearchGate, Academia.edu or Mendeley constitute indexing
Questions Authors Can Ask Any Journal About Openness
Transparency is shown through plain disclosure, not slogans. Before entrusting a journal with your work, you can ask a few direct questions and judge the quality of the answers.
- Ask who owns and runs it. A trustworthy journal names its publisher, editors and contact details openly. If these are hard to find or inconsistent, treat that as a reason to look more closely.
- Ask how decisions are made. Request a description of screening, reviewer selection and decision criteria. Clear answers show a defined process, while evasive replies suggest decisions may be arbitrary.
- Ask how money flows. Find out what funds the journal and when any author charge applies. Honest disclosure of revenue lets you judge possible conflicts between income and editorial choices.
- Ask about complaints and corrections. A responsible journal can describe how it handles appeals, errors and ethical concerns. Knowing these routes before problems occur is far better than discovering gaps later.
- Ask where papers will be kept. Enquire how long-term access is arranged if the journal changes or closes. Preservation plans protect your article and the citations that depend on it.
Put direct questions to any journal about ownership, decisions, money, complaints and preservation, and trust the answers you can verify.
Transparency FAQs
Who is the owner and publisher of JMVRA?
India-based JMVRA Publication (JMVRA Publication) owns the title and operates jmvra.org, though editors and reviewers decide on manuscripts according to academic merit.
What pays for JMVRA?
A single source: a one-time article processing charge of ₹971 INR (Indian authors) or $41 USD (foreign authors), due once a paper is accepted. Submission and review are free of charge, and readers pay nothing.
Which peer-review model does JMVRA follow?
Transparent, double-blind peer review. Both sides stay anonymous while the paper is under review; once it is published, the review is recorded on Scholar9, and the formal Transparent Peer Review Report can be requested.
Does Scopus, Web of Science or DOAJ index JMVRA?
No, and the journal states this openly. The Indexing Verification page links to its verifiable records — Crossref, the ISSN Portal, Google Scholar, OpenAlex, Zenodo and Scholar9.
Can published articles be altered or taken down?
Not quietly. If an error or integrity issue is confirmed, the journal publishes a correction, an expression of concern or a retraction, and the notice remains permanently linked to the article.

Digital preservation
How JMVRA Preserves Every Published Paper
At present JMVRA keeps its archive safe through its own preservation network. The journal has begun applying to join a LOCKSS-based preservation network, after which libraries will also hold copies independently.
- Now
Own preservation network
- A permanent URL holds each article, and it is never reorganised or reassigned to something else
- Crossref DOIs that keep resolving regardless of the website
- Copies archived in Zenodo (CERN), with records in OpenAlex and Google Scholar
- Papers that are withdrawn or retracted stay online with a clear mark, and are never deleted
- A succession plan, in writing, in case the journal stops publishing
- In progress
Applying to join LOCKSS
JMVRA has begun applying to a LOCKSS-based network, in which every participating library stores a copy and compares it with the others. The application is in progress, and this page will be updated once participation is confirmed.
