The journal was set up to offer researchers a reliable, openly accessible venue for work that might otherwise stay limited to one institution or conference. Each article it publishes stays free to read, has a permanent article page (with a Crossref DOI on request), and is reviewed before acceptance by people active in the same field. Such openness helps good research reach readers who lack access to costly subscriptions.
Aims, Scope and Readers
The journal is aimed at researchers, educators, research scholars and practitioners in engineering, computing, management, mathematics, the sciences, humanities, social sciences, education, healthcare and environmental studies. Interdisciplinary papers should make their research question, methods and contribution understandable to readers from all the fields concerned.
Accepted article types are original research, review articles, short communications, case studies and scholarly notes. Each manuscript should state its contribution and keep evidence, interpretation and limitations distinct.
What editors want to see
- A research question or problem that is clearly stated, together with a reason readers should care
- A method explained thoroughly enough for another researcher to repeat the work
- Conclusions that follow from the presented evidence, with limitations admitted and not concealed
- Use of the existing literature, including studies that disagree with the authors
- Prose that a reader from a neighbouring discipline can follow
The Research Area page has the full subject list. Work that falls between the listed areas is welcome; when you are unsure whether your topic suits the journal, ask the editorial office before you submit.
Author Guidelines
Write an original manuscript, and read the requirements in the submission portal before you upload any files.
- Title and authors: supply the full title along with author names, affiliations and corresponding-author details. Make sure all contributors agree on the author list before you submit.
- Abstract and keywords: set out the question, approach, main findings and implications. Pick terms that describe the work accurately and that readers would use when searching.
- Main text: explain methods, results and limitations in enough detail. A review article should say how its literature was chosen.
- References and figures: compare each citation with its source. Give numbers and captions to tables and figures, and get permission where it is required.
- Declarations: disclose funding, competing interests, who contributed what, relevant approvals, consent, availability of data and whether AI tools were used.
- Final checks: delete tracked changes, test that supplementary files open properly, and make sure every author approves the submission.
Word or PDF files are accepted by the submission portal, whose checklist gives the abstract length and keyword count currently required. Look at the portal for up-to-date formatting instructions, and consult the Publication Guidelines page for the complete preparation guide.
Publication Charges
JMVRA is open access, so a single article processing charge payable after acceptance pays for publication, in place of reader subscriptions. Authors from India pay ₹971 INR and foreign authors pay $41 USD, in both cases after acceptance. The Publication Charges page explains what the charge includes and the refund position.
Ask for written confirmation of the total charge before you pay. Applicable taxes, included services, payment instructions, waiver eligibility, refund terms and any extra charges should all be confirmed with the editorial office. Keeping that confirmation on file protects you if questions arise later.
Paying does not guarantee acceptance. The editorial decision rests on the merits of the work alone, and no payment is due when you submit.
Optional services — on request
You need none of these in order to publish. Each is supplied only when the author requests it, after acceptance.
| Service | Indian authors | Foreign authors |
|---|---|---|
| Crossref DOI registration | Optional | $20 |
| Hard copy of certificate | ₹500 | $100 |
| Bundle: journal hard copy + certificate + DOI | ₹1100 | $170 |
| Transparent peer-review report | ₹700 | $20 |
Peer Review
JMVRA follows transparent, double-blind peer review: while a paper is under review, identities remain concealed, and the review is documented so that it can be verified after the paper is published.
Double-blind
Reviewers do not see who wrote the paper, and authors do not learn who reviewed it.
- Anonymised manuscript
- Evaluated by subject-matter experts
- Decision sent by email & WhatsApp
Transparent
A documented review can be confirmed by anyone as having taken place.
- The review entry on Scholar9
- Public reviewer list
- Report in formal form upon request
The process runs through submission, editorial screening, expert review, a decision with any revisions requested, and production of accepted papers. Authors should answer the review comments and mark the changes clearly in revised manuscripts.
Review is double-blind: reviewers do not learn author identities, and authors do not learn reviewer identities. Follow the portal's guidance on handling author-identifying details and anonymised files, and clear up any doubt before uploading.
For reviewers
Take on assignments only within your expertise and available time. Declare conflicts, keep confidential material protected, and write specific, constructive comments grounded in the manuscript. Bring integrity concerns to the handling editor and avoid public accusations.
The Peer Review Policy documents the whole process.
Open-Process Peer Review
JMVRA is a Transparent, Peer-Reviewed, Open Access Journal (Refereed Journal). Reviewers are blind to the authors while the review takes place, and the review is documented so it can be verified after publication.
- Submission and screeningThe editorial office examines scope, completeness and the declarations.
- Similarity checkScreening with Turnitin / iThenticate ahead of review; similarity must be below 15%.
- Double-blind reviewSubject experts assess the paper without knowing who the authors are.
- Decision and revisionAcceptance, revision or rejection is notified by email and WhatsApp; revisions answer the review comments.
- PublicationPublished open access with a CC BY 4.0 licence, and a Crossref DOI if requested.
- Review recordScholar9 holds the record of the review, and the formal Transparent Peer Review Report can be obtained on request.

The JMVRA Peer Review: Transparent & Double-Blind page sets out how the various transparency models differ from one another.
Editorial Board
Academics and practitioners from the disciplines covered by the journal make up the editorial board. Board members and reviewers take on submissions within their own areas of expertise, and must declare any conflict of interest and step aside whenever one exists. Clear conflict rules protect the fairness of every decision.
Confirm any editorial appointment or change with the publisher. If you would like to review or join the board, write to the editorial office at [email protected], briefly stating your research area and including a link to your publication record.
Publication Ethics
Reports of research should describe accurately the work that was carried out. Authors are expected to cite their sources, acknowledge contributions, disclose conflicts, and secure any ethical approval and consent that apply. Fabricated data, misleading images, uncredited copying and duplicate submission damage the scholarly record.
Before review, each manuscript goes through a similarity screen. If a concern arises after publication, the journal responds with a correction, an expression of concern or a retraction, depending on the evidence, and the original record is marked up instead of being silently taken down.
The procedures for conduct concerns, corrections and complaints are in the Publication Ethics and Plagiarism sections of the policy page. When reporting a concern, give the article title or identifier and explain the evidence plainly.
Similarity Checks and Plagiarism Screening
Each submission undergoes a similarity screen before reaching reviewers, which means their time goes only to original work. Similarity must stay below 15% to be accepted, and authors can get the similarity report on request.

Turnitin
Submissions are compared for similarity with published literature, web content and earlier submissions.
iThenticate
A Turnitin offering for researchers and publishers that is also able to detect AI-generated writing.
- Authors need to disclose whether AI tools helped prepare the manuscript; AI-writing detection is offered too — read the AI-use policy.
- Cite your sources; text, figures or tables taken from elsewhere require permission from whoever holds the rights.
- If problems surface after publication, the journal responds with a correction, expression of concern or retraction, and the record is marked, not deleted.
Licensing, Copyright and Open Access
Every article can be read and downloaded free of charge, with no subscription or paywall, from the day it is published and without any embargo period.
Copyright stays with the authors. Articles carry an open licence allowing others to read, download, copy, distribute and build on the work, as long as the authors and the journal receive proper credit. Authors are still free to place the published version in an institutional repository or post it on a personal page.
If a manuscript draws on third-party material — a figure, a table, a lengthy quotation or an instrument — the author must get permission from the rights holder and credit the source in the caption. Refer to Copyright & Licence. Keeping written permissions on file saves trouble later.

Publication Schedule and Issues
Issues of JMVRA appear monthly. Papers can be submitted at any point in the year, and once copy editing and proofing finish, an accepted article is placed in the current issue. Prompt replies to proof queries help your article move forward.
A paper arriving after an issue's cut-off moves to the next issue instead of waiting indefinitely. The journal archive lists current and past issues, and each published article retains a permanent page and identifier even if the site is reorganised later.
Digital preservation
How Every Published Paper Is Preserved at JMVRA
At present JMVRA keeps its archive safe through its own preservation network. The journal has begun applying to join a LOCKSS-based preservation network, so libraries will also hold independent copies.
- Now
Own preservation network
- A permanent URL for every article, never restructured or reassigned
- Crossref DOIs that resolve independently of the website
- Zenodo (CERN) holds archived copies, and OpenAlex and Google Scholar hold records
- Withdrawn and retracted papers stay online with a clear mark and are never deleted
- A written plan for succession in case the journal ever stops publishing
- In progress
Our application to join LOCKSS
JMVRA has begun applying to join a LOCKSS-based network, where each participating library stores a copy and compares it with the others. The application is in progress, and this page will be updated once participation is confirmed.

Citation Metrics and Indexing
Indexing and abstracting services make published content easier to find, and a permanent Crossref DOI can be had on request so that citations of an article keep resolving.
Coverage and metrics are distinct, and both differ from UGC CARE listing. A dedicated page for each explains what the claim means and how you can verify it independently:
- Indexing & Abstracting — which services include the journal's content, and the way to confirm it
- Impact Factor Details — the calculation behind the figure and the limits of its meaning
- UGC Status & Parameters — status and independent verification
- CrossRef DOI — lasting identifiers and the metadata deposited with them
- Indexing Verification — the dated status of each service, including ones that do not list the journal
JMVRA is not listed by Scopus, Web of Science or DOAJ at present, and it says so openly. Its records can be found in Crossref, the ISSN Portal / ROAD, Google Scholar, OpenAlex, Scholar9, Zenodo, ORWave and Academia.edu, with a link to each below.

UGC & UGC-CARE
Where We Stand on UGC and UGC-CARE
JMVRA is a Transparent, Peer-Reviewed, Open Access Journal (Refereed Journal). Following the discontinuation of the UGC and UGC-CARE journal listing, and in alignment with the latest UGC-CARE recommendations and guidelines, JMVRA is aligned with UGC’s Suggested Parameters for Choosing Peer-Reviewed Journals. UGC public notice (PDF)
The UGC-CARE journal list was discontinued by UGC, which instead asked universities to judge journals against its suggestive parameters. JMVRA sets out its position on all 35 parameters, letting a research office verify it point by point.
35 suggested parameters arranged in 8 groups
Basis: Annexure-I of UGC’s notice. JMVRA’s own assessment finds 28 parameters met, 2 partly met, 3 not published and 2 not applicable, with an explanation for each result.

Six Steps to Verify Any Journal
- Look up the ISSN in the ISSN Portal and make sure the title is an exact match.
- Test a DOI at doi.org; it ought to lead to the article on the journal’s own site.
- Look in Crossref under the journal name to find the articles registered there.
- Open the Google Scholar and OpenAlex records and look at real citation data.
- Go through the review and ethics policies, and check whether transparent review records exist.
- Make sure the fee is stated openly in advance and collected only once a paper is accepted.
Each record named on this page links from Indexing Verification, together with the date it was last checked.

Privacy
Details provided at submission — author names, affiliations, email addresses and correspondence — serve to run peer review, publish accepted work and maintain the published record.
Author names, affiliations and article metadata are shown in the published article and in the metadata sent to the DOI registration agency and indexing services, so they are public by design. Contact details given for correspondence stay unpublished, apart from the corresponding-author details printed on the article. The Privacy Policy has the full statement.
Terms for the Website and Submissions
Anyone using the JMVRA website or its submission system is bound by the journal's terms, privacy and refund policies.
Authors answer for the accuracy of what they provide at submission — names, order, affiliations and email addresses — because these go into the published record and DOI metadata, and later changes need a formal correction notice.
Read the Terms & Conditions and Refund Policy.

Reading Journal Information Pages Like an Informed Author
A journal's information page collects its rules, policies and contacts in one place. Knowing what to look for there saves time and prevents avoidable mistakes in your submission.
- Read the guidelines against your draft. Go through each requirement with your manuscript open and tick items off. Doing this before submitting is quicker than correcting a returned paper.
- Note the ethics expectations. Check what the journal requires on consent, approvals, data and conflicts. Gather the supporting documents early so that declarations are accurate and complete.
- Understand the licensing terms. Learn who holds copyright and how readers may reuse your work. This affects thesis inclusion, repository deposit and later reuse of your own figures.
- Check how corrections are handled. A responsible journal explains how errors are corrected or papers withdrawn. Knowing the route in advance helps you act quickly if you later spot a mistake.
- Save a copy of the terms. Keep a dated copy of the policies that applied when you submitted. If wording changes later, you will still know the conditions you agreed to.
Treat the information page as a checklist for your manuscript, your ethics paperwork and your understanding of rights.
