The Core Collection has four journal indexes, plus separate indexes for books and conference proceedings.
Social Sciences Citation Index
Economics, management, psychology, sociology, education and other social sciences. Journals have a Journal Impact Factor.
Arts & Humanities Citation Index
Literature, history, philosophy, languages, arts and religion.
Emerging Sources Citation Index
Journals under evaluation that have not yet met the full SCIE, SSCI or AHCI criteria. A genuine Core Collection index, at a lower bar.
Book Citation Index
Scholarly books and book chapters in the sciences and the social sciences and humanities.
Conference Proceedings Citation Index
Published proceedings of conferences, symposia and workshops.

Search the ISSN on the Master Journal List
Open mjl.clarivate.com and search by ISSN, not only by title.

Match title and publisher exactly
Cloned journals copy titles; the publisher in the record must match the journal’s site.

Read the Web of Science Coverage field
It names the index — SCIE, SSCI, AHCI or ESCI. ESCI alone is not SCIE.

Check the Impact Factor and quartile in JCR
A Journal Impact Factor and quartile come from Journal Citation Reports, for a named category.

Confirm your institution’s rule
Some require SCIE/SSCI only, some accept ESCI, some accept Scopus too.

Tick every line before "Web of Science indexed" goes into your file.
- The ISSN, not just the title, was searched on the Master Journal List
- The publisher in the MJL record matches the journal website
- The Web of Science Coverage field names the index your rule requires
- An ESCI-only journal is not being described as SCIE or SCI
- The Impact Factor and quartile were read from Journal Citation Reports, for a named category
- Your institution confirmed in writing which indexes it accepts
- A logo, certificate or "WoS indexed" badge on the journal site was taken as proof

It is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal (ISSN 2984-8911) aligned with UGC’s eight Suggested Parameters, each documented with evidence in Journal Verification. If your requirement is a peer-reviewed, UGC-aligned journal rather than a specific database, use the Journal Finder or submit your paper.

What are Web of Science journals?
Journals indexed in one of Clarivate’s Web of Science Core Collection indexes — SCIE, SSCI, AHCI or ESCI — as recorded on the Master Journal List.
How many journals are in Web of Science?
Roughly 22,900 journals carry at least one Core Collection index. Titles are added and removed continuously, so the Master Journal List is the only current answer.
Is this the complete Web of Science journal list?
No. Clarivate’s full list is not available for redistribution. This page lists well-known journals whose coverage is publicly reported, each linked to its ISSN record and a Master Journal List search so you can confirm it.
What is the difference between SCIE and ESCI?
SCIE is the established science index with Journal Impact Factors. ESCI holds journals under evaluation that have not yet met the full criteria. A journal only in ESCI should not be described as SCIE indexed.
Are there Indian journals in Web of Science?
Yes — for example Current Science, the Indian Journal of Medical Research and several Indian Academy of Sciences journals such as Pramana, Sadhana and the Journal of Biosciences, listed above.
Is JMVRA a Web of Science journal?
No. JMVRA is not indexed in Web of Science and says so openly. It is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal aligned with UGC’s Suggested Parameters — see Journal Verification.
