The platform

About Open Research Wave

This is the network’s open-access branch and a sister domain of OpenRGATE.org. Articles and book chapters appear for open reading, and their metadata is deposited so discovery services can locate them, which keeps completed research from vanishing behind a paywall.

The aim is open reading. Articles and book chapters can be read free of charge from the first day, with metadata deposited to help discovery services find them. It operates closely alongside openrgate.org, the network’s repository and journal-discovery platform. Check the licence attached to your own work so you know how others may reuse it.

  • Open-access articles
  • Book chapters

The Four Services Behind It

Open Research Wave has no private versions of these. Every platform relies on the same four network services, so they all work in a consistent way.

  1. ManuscriptWritten to the platform’s own guidelines
  2. JWSCANSimilarity report first, if you wish
  3. JWJMSSubmission and review kept on record
  4. ReviewReports, revisions and the decision
  5. orwavePublishing on this platform
  6. JWDOICrossref DOI, if you want one
  7. OpenRGATERepository deposit, if you want one

Ways to Verify orwave.org

  1. Visit the site directly — enter orwave.org yourself instead of clicking a link from an email.
  2. Examine identifiers — look an ISSN up at the ISSN Portal, and an ISBN with the agency that issued it.
  3. Look through the policies — they explain, ahead of any submission, how peer review, ethics, corrections and charges are managed.
  4. Follow up on a DOI — open it at doi.org or through Crossref Search.
  5. Check indexing where it is recorded; a logo on a website proves nothing.
  6. Ask the university or institute you work for what its latest written rule says, and do so before any submission or payment.

Here we only explain what the platform does within the network. For its scope, editorial process, policies and charges, rely on what orwave.org itself publishes.
